Absence Procedures

Certified Staff, Paraprofessional, and Monitors

Unplanned Sick Leave (Less than 24-hour Notice )

Planned Sick Leave

Emergency Leave (After arriving at work; while on duty)

  • Communicate directly with supervisor in person or via text message

  • Supervisor will arrange for coverage

  • Submit absence request in - Frontline Absence Management as soon as possible or within 24 hours, unless incapacitated

Personal Leave

  • Submit absence request in - Frontline Absence Management

  • Once approved, administrative assistant will request substitute through Frontline

Professional Leave

Jury Duty

  • Submit sub request in - Frontline Absence Management. OAPSE employees should contact direct supervisor.
  • If required to report for jury duty, the court will give you a notice to submit to your employer. Forward that notice to the Office of Human Resources when you return to work.

Custodial, Food Service, Bus Drivers, and Non-represented Staff

Jury Duty

  • OAPSE employees should contact direct supervisor.
  • Submit absence request in - Employee Self Service

  • If required to report for jury duty, the court will give you a notice to submit to your employer. Forward that notice to the Office of Human Resources when you return to work.
