Masks Required January 3-15

Dear Bulldog Families:

We hope that you are enjoying your winter break. As you may be aware, the CDC released updated guidance on the duration of isolation and quarantine periods. The District is anticipating the release of guidance from our local regulatory agency, Summit County Public Health (SCPH), on how this will specifically apply to our students and staff.

We have been thoughtfully preparing for our transition back to school in consideration of the changes and number of COVID-19 cases among our staff and student body.  Maintaining in-person instruction remains a top priority of Green Local Schools.

While we await guidance and manage the surge following the holidays, we are requiring masks to be worn within all district buildings and on school buses.  This will be in place both during the school day and at all after-school activities.  This requirement will begin on January 3, 2022 and remain in place through January 15, 2022 in order to ensure that we have adequate staffing available to operate the district and to maximize our students’ chances of staying in school.

We will continue to monitor cases and work with local health professionals to determine if additional changes need to be made.  We believe this two-week change will assist greatly in a smooth and safe transition back to school following the winter break.  We appreciate your willingness to work together to keep our students and staff at school.  As a reminder, children experiencing symptoms of illness should stay home from school.

Respectfully,

Jeff Miller

Superintendent
