2021 Summit County Sheriff's Safety City
Dear Parents and Guardians, Your child, as an incoming kindergartener at Greenwood Early Learning Center, is invited to attend the Summit County Sheriff’s Safety City program this summer. Safety City is an early childhood program designed to instruct safety concerns through the use of a miniature city, guest presenters and other resources. In a fun and nurturing environment, kindergarteners are engaged in numerous areas of safety including bus, traffic, stranger danger, fire, and home safety. A school bus ride is always a highlight.
This is the thirty-fifth year the Sheriff's Office has provided Safety City to area schools. Safety City will be a four-day program conducted by the Summit County Sheriff's Office, with support from the Green Fire Department, the City of Green, guest presenters and Green Local Schools. Several DARE graduates will provide assistance.
There is no cost to participate. However, due to increasing budget cuts, monetary donations to help offset costs are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Checks can be made payable to "Summit County Sheriff's Office/Safety City.”
