Meet the School Board Members
Mr. Bob Campbell
President
Mr. Campbell was elected to the Green Local Schools Board of Education in 2005. He is a graduate of Green High School and received his B.S. degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Mr. Campbell served our country in the U.S. Air Force for 14 ½ years before becoming the chief pilot for the Timken Company. He is still employed by Timken as Manager of Aviation Services. Mr. Campbell enjoys spending time with his children as well as golfing, snow and water skiing, reading and attending sporting events.

Mrs. Katie Stoynoff
Vice President
Mrs. Stoynoff is a 1994 graduate of Green High School and has lived in Green for over 40 years. She is a graduate of The University of Akron, holding a Bachelor of Science Industrial Management-Human Resources and a Master of Science Secondary Education. Katie began her career at The University of Akron in 1997 in the Office of the Registrar. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she transitioned to the Office of Human Resources as a compensation analyst. When she left The University of Akron to become a stay-at-home mom, Katie was an employee trainer. In 2006, upon completion of her master’s degree, Mrs. Stoynoff returned to The University of Akron as a lecturer in the Department of English. She currently directs the English Composition Program and holds the rank of Professor of Instruction. In addition to serving on GLS Board of Education, Katie is a trustee on the Summit County Children’s Services Board. Mrs. Stoynoff has been married since 1997 and enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and son, Noah. In her free time, Mrs. Stoynoff enjoys reading, writing and being involved in the community.

Mr. Dave Cohen
Member
Dave Cohen was elected to the Green Board of Education in 2015. He is a professor of political science and fellow in the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at The University of Akron. He earned a B.A. in political science and international relations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in political science at the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in political science at the University of South Carolina. Mr. Cohen is a frequent media contributor on national and Ohio politics, and is Vice President of Programming for the Akron Press Club.
Mr. Cohen and his wife have lived in Green since 2000. Their two children attend Green Local Schools and are proud Bulldogs. He particularly enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children’s extracurricular activities.

Mr. Nick Fanelly
Member
Nick Fanelly is a lifelong resident of Green and a proud graduate of Green Local Schools, having been part of the first graduating class from the current Green High School building in 1996. He also attended Kleckner and Greenwood Elementary Schools, giving him a unique perspective on the district’s growth and history.
Nick owns and operates an HVAC company serving five states. His background in business leadership, financial management, and strategic planning supports his focus on responsible budgeting, effective facility oversight, and sound decision-making for the district’s more than 4,000 students.
He and his wife, Ann, have two children enrolled in Green Local Schools. Through their involvement in academics and athletics, Nick values strong instruction, safe learning environments, and well-rounded opportunities for all students. He is committed to maintaining Green Local Schools’ tradition of excellence through fiscal responsibility, student achievement, and strong community partnerships.

Mr. Eric Chojnacki
Member
Mr. Chojnacki was elected to the Green Board of Education in November 2019. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Organizational Communication from the University of Akron. He is a Client Results Account Executive at Incept in North Canton. Eric is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Green Schools Foundation where he serves on the Resource Development and Finance committees, and is a volunteer with the Blessings in a Backpack program. He has previously served on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio and Akron Roundtable. Mr. Chojnacki loves spending time with his family and coaching his sons' teams in baseball, basketball, and soccer. In his free time, Eric also enjoys reading a great biography or leadership development book.
