Social Studies Standards

Pursuant to regulations set forth by the Ohio Department of Education and Green Local Schools Board of Education Policy 2220, Adoption of Courses of Study, social studies instruction in the district is conducted in accordance with Ohio's Learning Standards in Social Studies.

Standard statements provide teachers and parents with a clear description of what students at each grade level are expected to learn. These statements describe not only the academic content students should master but also skills that students should develop over time as a result of participating in science learning experiences.

It is important to note that the Ohio's New Learning Standards do not specifically address instructional methods. To guide teachers with instruction in science, the Ohio Department of Education has developed model curricula at each grade level.
