Mathematics Standards

Pursuant to regulations set forth by the Ohio Department of Education and Green Local Schools Board of Education Policy 2220, Adoption of Courses of Study, mathematics instruction in the district is conducted in accordance with Ohio's Learning Standards in Mathematics.

Standard statements provide teachers and parents with a clear description of what students at each grade level are expected to learn. These statements describe not only the academic content students should master but also skills that students should develop over time as a result of participating in science learning experiences.

It is important to note that the Ohio's New Learning Standards do not specifically address instructional methods. To guide teachers with instruction in science, the Ohio Department of Education has developed model curricula at each grade level. For more information about science instruction in Ohio, please visit the Ohio Department of Education landing page for mathematics. Links to grade level standards and model curricula for science may be found at right.

Parents of students in grades K-8 are encouraged to access additional district mathematics resources which have been prepared by our previous district mathematics coach, Mrs. Pam Steinkirchner.
