Local Grading Scale

Grades 2-12
 
All quarterly and final academic marks, with the exception of those in Advanced Placement courses, are calculated based on a 10-point scale as shown below.

Academic marks will be weighted in the following manner: 

• 20% of the quarterly grade will be from graded assignments and activities that are considered Academic Practice, when a student is learning something for the first time or is still in the early stages of learning the material. Academic practice grades generally come from homework assignments, in-class assignments and some quizzes, which are formative in nature.
• 80% of the quarterly grade will be from graded assignments and activities that area considered Academic Achievement, when a student has had sufficient instruction, practice and support and can demonstrate mastery.  Academic achievement grades generally come from tests, quizzes and projects, which are summative in nature.
