What are Standards?

Standards are the learning expectations for students in each subject area and at each grade level that will prepare students for college and career. Other Applicable Board of Education Policies include:

The Ohio Department of Education has worked with teams of teachers across the state to develop a model curriculum of teaching strategies and resources aligned to Ohio's New Learning Standards. The State Board also has adopted model curricula for most subjects. Learn more about standards and the model curricula by clicking on the subject areas to the left.
