The Developmental Early Childhood Program is available free of charge to children ages 3-5 who currently have a disability in one or more areas of development and on a tuition basis for typically-developing preschoolers living within the City of Green. Tuition is paid on-line through the EZ Pay System. Tuition for the school year is listed below (subject to change pending Board of Education recommendation and approval).
Tuition for our preschool program is $1,935.00. The monthly payment of $215 may be paid through our online payment system. Access to this program is on our website @ www.greenlocalschools.org. Payments can be made with either a debit or credit card. Should you choose to change your payment plan, you may make the change at the beginning of January for the remainder payments.
The Board of Education approved, for your convenience, another option which would allow you to pay the tuition in two payments. The first installment of $1000 would be due by the second week of August and the second installment of $800 due by second week of January. This option may be paid with cash or check.
The Developmental Early Childhood Program is in session four days a week (Monday - Thursday). Children are scheduled to attend either the morning session or the afternoon session based on his/her residential location within the City limits. Currently, Greenwood has 4 morning classrooms and 3 afternoon classrooms. Each classroom has approximately 10-12 students (6 typically-developing children).
Classroom teachers are certified in early childhood and special education. In addition to a lead teacher, each classroom has at least one designated educational aide. All students have an opportunity to utilize the Green Local Schools Transportation services.
If you are interested in registering a typically-developing preschooler (must be 4 years of age by August 1 of the upcoming school year), please stop by the school office to complete a waiting list application. Available slots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis beginning in March. A preschool screening process will be held in February for those students who have applied early. The assessments will scheduled and parents will be notified as to the appropriate date to bring their child to the screening (play-date). Screenings for late applicants will be held on as needed basis.
Once accepted into the program, families will need to fill out our Preschool Student Health Documents listed below. Documents need to be completed by the start of the school year.
If you have a child who has currently been diagnosed with a developmental delay or you suspect a developmental delay (must be 3 years of age), please contact the school office by calling 330-896-7474 to speak with either a Speech and Language Pathologist or the School Psychologist to begin the referral or evaluation process.
