Standard statements provide teachers and parents with a clear description of what students at each grade level are expected to learn. These statements describe not only the academic content students should master but also skills that students should develop over time as a result of participating in literacy learning experiences.
It is important to note that the Common Core State Standards do not specifically address instructional methods.
