All About Me - Ms. Bentley
I am originally from Lakewood, Ohio, near the west side of Cleveland. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Akron. I have taught for Akron Public Schools, a private school, an adult education program, and I was the Director of Education for a Sylvan Learning Center.
I received my Master's Degree in Classroom Guidance and my license for School Counseling from the University of Akron. Before I came to Green in the fall of 2006, I taught first grade at Seiberling Elementary in Goodyear Heights for eight years. I absolutely love being a school counselor! I believe it is what I was always meant to do. It is so rewarding to be able to work with such wonderful, caring families in Green.
I am proud to say that my family and I live in the fabulous community of Green, Ohio! My oldest son, William, is nineteen. He is in his second year at the College of Wooster, studying Political Science and working in the library. He plays the saxophone, and enjoys history and video games. My younger son, Andrew, is sixteen and he just got his driver's license! He is in the drum line in the GHS Bulldog Marching Band and he likes to play tennis, golf, and video games. He works at Giant Eagle as a cashier and at the Sushi counter.
My mom lives with us, which gives us all a great opportunity to become involved in each other's lives and it allows us to depend on each other. But the best part is, she's a great cook!
We have a black and white, long-haired chihuahua named, Zeke. He likes bacon treats, fruits and vegetables and socks! (whether they're on your feet or not!) Actually the only thing we've found that Zeke won't eat are ants and SweetTarts!
As for me and my hobbies, I love to travel! My mom's family is from western New York, so I visit there and go to Canada quite frequently. Some of my favorite past destinations include; New Orleans, Florida, France, Washington D.C., Mexico, Hilton Head, Las Vegas, Georgia, and the Southern Caribbean. Cruising is my favorite way to go! I played the clarinet in high school and I love music. I enjoy reading (especially outside in the summer), and I love to go to the movies! I am working on turning my old scrapbooks into photo books and trying to crochet a shawl (A scarf would have been a better idea!).
I am looking forward to another challenging but rewarding year. No two are ever the same! I hope you are surrounded by all the things that make you happy!
