Welcome to the Video Production Department Page! This site is still a work in progress for us, so check back. Alumni, check out the blog on the left and leave us a message about how/what you're doing.
In Video 1, students are introduced to the program in a nine-week course that is paired with Photography 1. Students learn the basics of the equipment the school has to offer. They learn Camera and editing basics as well as introduction to journalism techniques.
Video 2 is a semester- long class for students achieving an A or B in Video 1, and who want to continue in the program. This class is often responsible for broadcasting our daily announcements to the school. Students work on Video projects for competitions as well as for the community access channel. Some of the talk shows viewed on Community Access Channel 16 are crewed by Video 2 students!
For students with a desire to learn more, Video 3 is offered. Students in Video 3 create their own programing and will work with the more sophisticated equipment giving them a quality preparation for further education.
Green High's Video Production program offers many opportunities for students to partake in competitions, filming of community meetings and events, and access to post-secondary educational opportunities. Contact either of our instructors for more information and browse the links to the left for classroom information and project examples.
